Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Youth and Sports Department conducts training to improve sports personnel competence in sports recovery which takes place in the North Sangatta 2 State High School Hall on November 15-17, 2022. The three-day activity is an effort to realize East Kutai as a regional pilot project for sports achievement in East Kalimantan Province.
Vice Regent Kasmidi Bulang also attended the activity to express his appreciation. Through the Youth and Sports Department, East Kutai Government provides continuous support to coaches, athletes, and officials who are members of sports to reap achievements.
“We support all sports and this training is helpful to develop sports potential in East Kutai. Further, East Kutai can produce great athletes to compete on the national and international levels,” said Kasmidi.
According to Kasmidi, sports development in the Regency has a large budget allocation in 2022. After the East Kalimantan Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in Berau, the East Kutai Government will organize a coaching clinic activity by inviting national or Southeast Asian athletes. He said, “We decide on around eleven sports to be developed. Then, we will invite national or Southeast Asian athletes to encourage our children to learn more about sports.”
Likewise, the Head of the East Kutai Youth and Sports Department Basri delivered that the sports recovery training purpose is to contribute to the grand design of the Regency’s sports which had become the main agenda of the Department. In addition, the activity is expected to boost the sports achievement of East Kutai’s athletes.
“The training program aims to advance the capacity of coaches, provide sports facilities and infrastructure, and give reward motivation to reach the target of sports achievements in East Kutai. We invite resource persons who are competent in their fields, namely trainers at the East Kalimantan School for International Athletes (SKOI),” said Basri in his closing statement.
