Hair salon business training is important for human resource development in East Kutai, primarily for beginners in the salon business to increase their competitiveness.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Tourism Department held a five-day training entitled Hair Salon Business 2023 on June 19-23, 2023, at Meranti Room, East Kutai Regent’s Office. The training participants consisted of 75 tourism business actors, particularly in the salon sector.
In his opening remarks, Vice Regent Kasmidi Bulang appreciated the East Kutai Tourism Department for holding training targeting beginners. Kasmidi is optimistic that mastering skills in the salon business will encourage the opening of new jobs.
“This activity is a form of government service in terms of preparing human resources. From this, we hope that creativity and business will emerge that can generate economic value at least for ourselves, our families, and the people we employ,” explained Kasmidi.
Further, this training is one way for the Government of East Kutai Regency to support strengthening the economy in the regency. He added, “These skills will be the initial capital for all of you to develop the salon business.”
Kasmidi also reminded participants to actively learn and make good use of this activity. Thus, the knowledge gained can be beneficial, especially for beginners. “For those whose businesses are already running, please convey the obstacles they are experiencing. If later beginners encounter these obstacles, there are solutions that can be implemented,” Kasmidi said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Tourism Department Nurullah said that the participants in the first batch of training came from North Sangatta, Sangatta, Bengalon, and Kaliorang Districts.
Nurullah hopes that this training can help novice hair stylists get to know professional techniques. Trainers will teach a variety of techniques, including coloring, smoothing, and cutting, and introduce the various tools needed by hair stylists. “This training is important for the development of human resources, especially salon businesses to increase their competitiveness,” he concluded.
