Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Government through the Youth and Sports Department organizes a music festival titled Kutai Timur Bisa which takes place in the Ilham Maulana Polder area on November 21-23, 2022. This event aims to channel creativity and develop the character of young people in East Kutai. In addition, the festival also encourages the growth of MSMEs.
Vice Regent Kasmidi Bulang attended the opening ceremony and showed his support. According to him, the activity can boost the motivation of business actors and parties related to the event. “The event is for young people, specifically young people who are members of bands. This also involves MSMEs in East Kutai,” said Kasmidi (11/21).
By participating in the festival, he expected the youth can enhance their potential and solidarity as well as encourage economic growth through MSMEs. Kasmidi said, “This kind of event has been held for the first time. I am sure next year will be more festive. Hopefully, the festival will be a place for young people to expand their creativity and showcase their best to be judged by the jury.”
The Head of the East Kutai Youth and Sports Department Basrie said that the festival is a benchmark for measuring the abilities of East Kutai youth in the field of music. The activity with a total prize of Rp20 million or US$1,274 (US$1=Rp15,694.1) involves band participants from Sangatta, Bontang, Samarinda, and Balikpapan. Dozens of MSME sellers also enliven the three-day event.
