Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Kutai Government held a ceremony commemorating its 23rd anniversary taking place at the East Kutai Regent office field on Wednesday (12/10). East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor who also served as Regent of East Kutai for the 2009—2015 period, acted as a ceremonial inspector.
At the momentum of the age of 23, Isran advised the people of East Kutai to maintain security, harmony, and peace. He said, “Let’s bring up the spirit of fellowship and solidarity among others. Hopefully, all the efforts will foster unity.”
The Governor expressed his appreciation to the government and people of East Kutai for the spirit to achieve mutual prosperity. “The last two years the Covid-19 pandemic has paralyzed the economy, limiting the movement of people and goods. Therefore, we have to continue the development to maintain the economy and welfare not declining,” he said.
Isran further added that currently, the central and regional governments have carried out economic recovery with a focus on increasing business productivity and people’s purchasing power. Aligned with that, the East Kutai Government should also immediately make a breakthrough utilizing innovation and creativity.
With abundant natural resources, the economy in East Kutai can grow stronger and thrive well. In the regency, the sector of mining, agriculture, and plantation has developed rapidly, supported by the Maloy Industrial Estate and Port. “East Kutai will become a major food and horticultural hub along with other regions, including North Penajam Paser, Kutai Kartanegara, and West Kutai, as well as supporting the needs of the new State Capital (IKN) in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser, Kutai Kartanegara, and the surrounding areas,” added the Governor Isran Noor.
The former regent of East Kutai for the 2009—2015 period expected the East Kutai government in collaboration with the community to conduct better and more advanced development activities in various sectors, including the MSME, education, tourism, and poverty alleviation.
During the ceremony, the government also delivered awards to outstanding civil servants, spanning village heads, sub-district heads, cooperatives, corporate partners, and co-op assistants.
