Heaptalk, Jakarta — Haus!, Indonesia-based food and beverage startup, has recorded a significant business growth of 73% in the initial semester of 2022. This accomplishment is bolstered by the company sales performance of its 200 branches, spread over 18 cities in Indonesia, covering Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Solo, Bandung, and Jakarta Greater Area.

As delivered by the Founder and CEO of Haus!, Gufron Syarif, during the media luncheon, the upbeat performance is boosted by the opening of 71 new Haus! Outlets throughout the semester. While in terms of sales composition, numerous aggregator applications as online delivery services are considered a robust cantilever for this F&B brand, growing sales by 69% during the pandemic. However, he claimed offline sales transactions also generate a tremendous contribution of 31%.

Refers to the Momentum Works report, the business of the new bubble tea drink category continues to develop yearly. Gufron revealed the market value of the bubble drink category in Indonesia had reached USD1.6 billion, or nearly Rp24 trillion, in 2021. This country also leads the position as the biggest market for bubble drinks around the SEA, followed by Thailand at USD749 million and Vietnam with a market value of USD362 million.

As the food and beverage startup established in 2018, Haus! Intends to utilize this opportunity to make the bubble drink market in Indonesia commensurate with the China market as the pioneer of the bubble and tea drinks category business. As stated by Gufron, this market has attained USD14.9 billion, or approximately Rp230 trillion.

“Although the value has not equivalent to the Chinese market, we observed the bubble and tea market in Indonesia continue to increase by around 8% – 9% percent yearly and is also anticipated to strike a value of US$2.3 billion in 2026. Thus, we aim to take this good opportunity,” Affirmed Gufron.

The startup strategy to attain 80% of business growth in 2023

As a part of the company’s strategy to reach the target, this Indonesia-based F&B has broadened its new attractive menu preference for the customers, including kiwi tea, lychee tea, and snack selection. The menu augmentation is performed as a brand-new innovation, which is presented periodically in fulfilling a high demand of consumers. The new snack innovation has enhanced its market size by up to 30%.

This F&B brand has also contained 221 outlets until this semester and intends to close its achievement with 250 branches by the end of 2022. Further, regardless of providing a unique variety of its menu, Haus! The brand will also target to expand its existence by augmenting 300 outlets per year and expect to open 1,500 branches by 2026 throughout the Indonesia region.

Obtaining the B1 series funding round from BRI Ventures, Atlas Global Ventures, and Strategic Year Holdings in early 2022, this Food and Beverage brand will accelerate its vertical service with multiple parties to complete new services. Gufron revealed the company would partner with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) to implement the Banking in Merchant in the outlet, available in October this year.

In response to this cooperation, Chief Investment Officer of BRI Ventures, Markus Liman Rahardja, stated, “Since its early existence as the F&B startup, Haus! has always shown its loyalty to serve an affordable food and beverage product for the entire realms. This spirit has motivated us to continue to bolster this brand in creating innovative products for people in Indonesia,”
