Heaptalk, Jakarta — The National Border Management Agency (BNPP) has managed to develop border areas. With its excellent performance, Indonesia has contained 13 National Border Posts (PLBN) until this year.

In more detail, the existing PLBN points include the Entikong PLBN, Aruk PLBN, Badau PLBN, Motaain PLBN, Wini PLBN, Motamasin PLBN, Skouw PLBN, Sota PLBN. Meanwhile, BNPP has developed diverse latest border posts, including Serasan PLBN, Jagoi Babang PLBN, Sei Nyamuk PLBN, Napan PLBN, and Yatekun PLBN.

Besides, the National Border Management Agency is still developing 3 PLBNs, covering Labang, Long Nawang, and Long Midang PLBNs. Meanwhile, around two PLBNs, including the Sei Kelik and Oepoli PLBNs, are still in the preparation stage for construction. In processing state boundaries, BNPP has also added the construction of 268 pillars out of a total of around 21,619 posts of state boundaries over the last two years.

On the other hand, BNPP has also performed several other strategic moves, including identifying boundary markers for facilities and infrastructure (Sarpras) for defense and security (Hankam) on land areas reaching 140km, building 35 border security posts (Pamtas), and calibrating four reference point (TR) pillars. This government entity also coordinated the construction of 12 Indonesian Navy Posts and the implementation of joint maritime border operations coordinated by the Maritime Security Agency (BAKAMLA).

“In 2022, we trained about 360 community leaders, including village headmen, village officials, civil service task force personnel, religious leaders, traditional leaders, youth leaders, and women leaders.” Deputy for Regional Boundary Management at BNPP, Robert Simbolon, during the media briefing at the BNPP office. (12/05)

Simultaneously, BNPP received strategic funds worth US$555 million, approximately Rp8.6 trillion, to manage state borders and border areas 2023. Based on the BNPP Secretary, Zudan Arif Fakhrullah, this capital came from 31 Indonesia’s Ministries and Institutions. As is well known, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) has allocated funds worth Rp3.2 trillion, following budget allocation for the Ministry of Social Affairs worth Rp2.3 trillion.

With this strategic support, Zudan looks forward to the budget obtained due to the increasing regional necessities related to roads, bridges, hospitals, education for health professionals, and the BTS network infrastructure improvement.
