Heaptalk, Jakarta — To ensure the smoothness of homecoming travel for Eid 2025, the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), along with its institutions and autonomous bodies, has initiated the Mudik Seru Bareng NU program, which translates to an exciting homecoming with NU.
“This program provides transportation services for 1,900 homebound travelers, consisting of mosque caretakers, Islamic students, informal workers, people with disabilities, and members of the public in need,” explained Ginanjar Sya’ban, Head of the NU Mudik Task Force, in his speech before releasing the travelers at the NU Central Office in Jakarta.
A total of 38 buses have been prepared to take participants to multiple destinations, including Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, East Java, and Madura. This program not only focuses on providing transportation but also offers dozens of NU Homecoming Posts spread along the national routes of Pantura, the southern route, and the Sumatra homecoming route.
These posts will operate from March 24 to 29, 2025, and provide numerous facilities for homebound travelers. At each post, travelers can rest comfortably and access health services, community kitchens for iftar and suhoor, as well as facilities for zakat, infaq, and charity.
Choirul Sholeh Rasyid, Chairman of PBNU, stated that this program is part of PBNU’s commitment to supporting the smoothness of the public’s journey. “Homecoming is a significant moment for many people. Through this program, we want to provide support to make the homecoming journey safer, more comfortable, and smoother,” said Choirul.
M. Nabil Harun, Chairman of Pagar Nusa, added that safety during the journey is also a primary concern. We are doing everything possible to ensure that the homecoming journey runs smoothly and safely. In addition, the NU posts are ready to serve as rest stops for travelers who need a break before continuing their journey,” Nabil said.
Habib Ali Hasan Al Bahar, Chairman of Lazisnu, emphasized the importance of sharing during this Ramadan moment. “We provide zakat, infaq, and charity services at the homecoming posts as part of our efforts to strengthen social care during the journey,” Habib Ali said.
Dr. Ahmad Zayadi, Secretary of the Mosque Management Institution (LTM), stated that NU mosques are prepared to participate in this service. “In addition to being places of worship, the mosques along the homecoming routes are also serving as resting locations for travelers, with facilities that have been optimally prepared,” Ahmad said.
The release of the Mudik Seru Bareng NU buses will take place at the PBNU Office, Jl. Kramat Raya No. 164, Central Jakarta, on March 25, 2025 (25th of Ramadan, 1446 AH). With this program, PBNU aims to make the homecoming journey smoother and more orderly, providing benefits for community members who will celebrate Eid with their families in their hometowns.
