Teten hopes Inacraft on October can promote the export of Indonesian handicrafts, enhancing its level, which is currently rank 3rd in ASEAN and 15th worldwide, to be the leader of this industry.
Heaptalk, Jakarta – International Handicraft Trade Fair Inacraft is poised to return on October 4th– 8th at JCC, Jakarta. This event is expected to enhance the export value of craft products by taking into account the archipelago’s tremendous potential.
Attending the soft launching of this event, Indonesia’s Minister of SMEs Teten Masduki stated, “I would like to appreciate Indonesian handicraft producers and exporters (ASEPHI) for the soft launching of Inacraft on October this year.”
In his opening remarks, Minister Teten conveyed that the national craft export value attained US$949 million throughout 2022. This number increased compared to the previous year which only attained US$916 million. However, the Indonesian craft market share worldwide remains diminutive, only reaching 2.5%.
Meanwhile, Teten believes that Indonesia has tremendous potential with abundant raw materials and various cultures. He explained that the demand for handicraft products in the global market also has escalated by 9% in the last three years.
“This is a great market potential for us considering our handicraft which is generated with strong local culture,” said Teten (09/29).
For this reason, Teten hopes Inacraft can promote the export of Indonesian handicrafts, enhancing its level, which is currently rank 3rd in ASEAN and 15th worldwide, to be the leader of this industry.
