Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita officially inaugurated the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2024 at ICE BSD on Friday (22/11), expressing hopes that the event will boost domestic car sales amid a sluggish market.
“I hope this exhibition will drive domestic car sales, which are currently underperforming, and help us achieve the 2024 sales target of 850,000 units,” AGK stated during his speech.
Acknowledging the current pressure on Indonesia’s automotive industry, the Minister emphasized the importance of collective efforts to find solutions, with GJAW 2024 as a critical initiative. “I deeply appreciate Gaikindo and Mandiri Utama Finance for organizing Jakarta Auto Week during these challenging times. I believe this event will revive Indonesia’s automotive industry,” he added.
Gaikindo Chairman Yohannes Nangoi revealed that GJAW 2024 features over 80 exhibitors, including 27 passenger car brands, 12 motorcycle brands, and more than 40 supporting industries. Visitors can explore the latest automotive innovations alongside engaging entertainment.
Tickets are available online for Rp40,000 on weekdays and Rp70,000 on weekends. On-site purchases are priced at Rp50,000 on weekdays and Rp80,000 on weekends. The GJAW 2024 event aims to reinvigorate the automotive sector by showcasing cutting-edge vehicles and fostering consumer interest in a challenging market environment.
