Heaptalk, Jakarta — The international-scale furniture and handicraft exhibition Indonesia Furniture & Design Expo (Iffina) 2024 successfully occurred from September 14 to 17, 2024, at ICE BSD.
Dedy Rochimat, Chairman of the Indonesian Furniture Industry and Handicraft Association (Asmindo), stated that during Iffina 2024, the association received positive feedback from furniture and handicraft industry players and buyers from home and abroad. Through this exhibition, there is hope that Indonesia’s export potential will increase by up to 17% by the end of the year, with a market value potentially reaching US$165 million.
“The total number of visitors during the 4-day exhibition was 8,294 people from 34 countries,” said Dedy.
Occupying an area of 18,000 square meters, Iffina became a showcase for domestic furniture and handicraft products. The event also featured a collaboration between Iffina and Interzum, a Koelnmesse exhibition brand focusing on the latest furniture and interior design innovations. Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director & VP Asia-Pacific of Koelnmesse, said, “This collaboration will foster new business opportunities that will strengthen the furniture industry in Southeast Asia.”
Various supporting programs were also featured as part of Iffina 2024. Activities such as workshops and talk shows on different furniture and design industry themes attracted participants and visitors.
Dedy hopes that next year’s Iffina will attract more exhibitors and visitors from domestic and international markets. “Together, we will strengthen the furniture and handicraft industry ecosystem to achieve the goal of dominating local and global markets, as highlighted by Teten Masduki, the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs,” Dedy concluded.
