Marking the opening of this travel exhibition, Garuda Indonesia’s President Director, Irfan, stated, “The implementation of GATF is a part of Garuda Indonesia’s intention to recover Indonesia’s economy by inviting people to fly anymore using this airline to trip to several destinations. Thus, I also emphasize to the travel agent players putting forward the domestic excursion, as the archipelago has millions of incredible tourist attractions,”
Amid the local tourist recovery momentum, the Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, delivered his appreciation to the synergy between State-Owned entities, namely Garuda Indonesia and Mandiri Bank, to become a front line as the national development agent while showing the airline company’s readiness to accelerate the business performance transformation in making a pride airline company in Indonesia.
Further, Erick also added, “Indonesia has a large population of 273 million people, yet there are still many people, particularly in rural areas, who still need our support in terms of their economy. For this reason, I hope the community will not always focus on foreign tourist destinations, yet on domestic tourism, as the archipelago possesses fantastic destinations,”
Through organizing GATF 2022, this SOE airline company has set up a minimum of 40,000 flight seats for traveling enthusiasts to visit their favored tourist destinations with enticing flight ticket discounts of up to 80% through the Best Deal program. With this attractive program in the GATF 2022 event, Garuda Indonesia expects to strive for the tourism industry and elevate the national economy in the post-pandemic.
Supported by Dyandra Promosindo, the Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair is targeted to attract around 30,000 – 35,000 visitors for the three days of the expo. As the event promoter, Daswar has a forceful optimism to obtain US$1.9 million, or nearly Rp30 billion transactions.
“We hope the implementation of GATF 2022 can provide added value optimally amidst the momentum of accelerating performance recovery that we continue to carry out and aim to provide the community to take advantage in gaining attractive promos. Concurrently, I also expect the tourism industry players can tighten each other to accelerate the national tourism restoration,” said Daswar.
