The Chairman of HIMKI, Abdul Sobur, said in a written statement, ”The presence of the 9th IFEX 2024 will enable local producers to connect directly with global buyers.”

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The furniture and craft industry contributed significantly to Indonesia’s export value. However, this industry encounters challenges due to world geopolitical conditions and inflations, which lead to the weakening of Indonesia’s export market in 2023. The total exports of this industry in Q3 2023 only reached US$1.8 billion, down 28% compared to the export record in 2022, which attained US$2.5 billion.

Nevertheless, the Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (HIMKI) remains optimistic that this industry will grow this year. To embody this goal, the association, together with Dyandra Promosindo, will hold the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) from February 29 to March 3 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The Chairman of HIMKI, Abdul Sobur, said in a written statement, ”The presence of the 9th IFEX 2024 will enable local producers to connect directly with global buyers.”

According to Dyandra Promosindo, Indonesia’s largest furniture and craft exhibition will adopt the theme of Reflection on culture, Experiencing comfort, Adapting to sustainability, and Leading innovation (R.E.A.L). Around 500 businesses will present about 1,000 products in this agenda.

Abdul added, “Although global competition keeps enhancing, we believe that the Indonesian furniture and craft industry can grow. Our local products are made from Indonesian natural resources with creative and authentic designs. The products also adopt sustainability concepts.”

Moreover, IFEX 2024 will deliver a networking session named IFEX Buyers and Exhibition Nite, IFEX Seminar, and Best Booth Awarding. Based on the promotor’s data, the agenda managed to attract visitors from 68 countries, including Singapore, the US, Australia, China, Great Britain, France, South Korea, Germany, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and more.
