Heaptalk, Jakarta — For the third time, Indonesia’s largest and first floriculture exhibition, the Floriculture Indonesia International (FLOII) Expo 2024, will be organized at Hall 3, ICE BSD Tangerang, from December 5 to 8, 2024.

This exhibition aims to be the premier platform for business players, plant enthusiasts, and ornamental plant activists. It will also introduce various elements of the plant industry, from producers to consumers.

With the theme ‘Evolutionary & Revolutionary Elegance: The Beauty of Genetic Diversity in Floriculture,’ FLOII Expo 2024 will highlight how genetic mutations have contributed to creating unique and captivating ornamental plant varieties. The exhibition will also demonstrate how genetic diversity inspires and drives innovation in the ornamental plant industry.

Armilawaty Razak, Head of the Floriculture Group at the Ministry of Agriculture, stated that the floriculture industry continues to grow significantly yearly. According to the Ministry data, the average annual growth is 21.8%. For this reason, the Ministry welcomes the FLOII Expo 2024 which will serve as a platform to connect consumers and producers and is an important educational tool for the public.

“With this exhibition, awareness of the diversity of ornamental plants can be increased while providing plant enthusiasts with the latest knowledge and information. Therefore, we highly appreciate this event,” she said during a press conference at Waterfall by Godong Ijo, Depok, West Java.

Echoing Armilawaty’s sentiments, Michael Bayu A. Sumarijanto, President Director of Dyandra Event Solutions, said that FLOII Expo 2024 is a crucial event for industry players and ornamental plant lovers. Moreover, Indonesia has abundant and growing biodiversity potential. Additionally, the market potential for the ornamental plant industry remains substantial. According to Bayu, although the domestic market declined after the Covid-19 pandemic boom, the ornamental plant industry has attracted buyers from various countries.

“FLOII Expo 2024 is an important exhibition for the industry. Three years ago, stakeholders asked us to become the driving force behind making ornamental plants a major industry. This theme reflects our commitment to showcasing the beauty and uniqueness of mutated ornamental plants with high aesthetic and commercial value. We want to show the world that Indonesia can lead in innovation and genetic diversity in ornamental plants,” he explained.

During the four-day event, visitors to FLOII Expo 2024 will be treated to various exciting programs designed to facilitate interaction and knowledge-sharing between industry players and plant enthusiasts. These programs include talk shows featuring national and international speakers, workshops offering practical training on cultivation and plant care techniques, and ornamental plant auctions and contests. The contests will cover various plant classes, including Aroid, Sansevieria, Platycerium, Aglaonema, and others, allowing participants to showcase their cultivation achievements.
