Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Energy and Mineral Resources Research and Development Agency (Lemigas) has confirmed through laboratory testing that the quality of Pertamax fuel, sourced from gas stations in the Cibinong area of West Java and several other regions, complies with the technical specifications mandated by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas (Ditjen Migas) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

“The laboratory results from Lemigas affirm that Pertamax products meet the specifications outlined by Ditjen Migas’ regulations. The public need not worry about Pertamax’s quality,” stated PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Corporate Secretary, Heppy Wulansari, in an official statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday (19/12).

Addressing reports of vehicle engine issues allegedly linked to the fuel, Heppy emphasized that Pertamina is actively monitoring the situation and collaborating with the Bandung Institute of Technology’s Industrial Engineering Laboratory (LAPI ITB) to investigate further.

“We are conducting a comprehensive analysis, considering that the reported engine issues are isolated to specific vehicle brands and models in certain locations. This necessitates a thorough examination of the underlying causes,” she added.

Heppy further reassured the public that Pertamina is swiftly addressing these incidents. Upon receiving reports from affected consumers, the company immediately collected fuel samples from the reported gas stations and the affected vehicles. These samples were then submitted to Lemigas for testing with LAPI ITB’s vehicle engine evaluations.

“Pertamina remains committed to continuously monitoring fuel quality and ensuring accountability for our distributed products. We are dedicated to delivering the highest standards for our consumers and are prepared to undertake evaluations if necessary,” Heppy asserted.

Additionally, Pertamina advises consumers to maintain their vehicles regularly through authorized service centers and to use fuel that aligns with their vehicle specifications to ensure optimal performance.

“For further inquiries or assistance, consumers are encouraged to contact the Pertamina Call Center at 135,” Heppy concluded.
