Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Floriculture Indonesia International Expo (FLOII) 2024, an international horticultural exhibition, announced its return from December 5 to 8, 2024, at Hall 3, ICE BSD, Tangerang. This year’s event will emphasize the genetic diversity of ornamental plants, aiming to showcase Indonesia’s potential in the global floriculture market.
Michael Bayu A. Sumarijanto, President Director of Dyandra Event Solutions, highlighted Indonesia’s vast natural beauty as a critical driver for the country’s significant potential in the ornamental plant industry.
“With our wealth of biodiversity, Indonesia holds immense potential to become a leader in ornamental plant genetic innovation. Through FLOII, we aim to demonstrate to the world that Indonesian ornamental plants are beautiful and hold significant economic value and competitiveness,” Michael stated.
The FLOII Expo 2024 aspires to deepen global understanding of Indonesia’s floriculture potential while encouraging innovation in the ornamental plant industry. Michael further emphasized that the expo is intended to be more than just an exhibition; it is a pivotal moment to solidify Indonesia’s position as a significant player in the global horticulture industry.
Armilawaty Razak, Chairperson of the Floriculture Group at the Ministry of Agriculture, noted that Indonesia’s ornamental plant industry has been experiencing robust growth, with an average annual increase of 21.8%, according to Ministry data.
“This exhibition serves as a strategic platform to bring together industry players, ornamental plant enthusiasts, and the general public in an integrated forum for education and promotion,” she remarked.
She hoped the FLOII Expo would raise public awareness about the importance of biodiversity in ornamental plants while providing up-to-date insights into the industry’s progress.
Rico Rusdiansyah, a representative of the Indonesian Aroid Society, described the FLOII Expo as a crucial platform for advancing the ornamental plant industry.
“FLOII is the ideal venue to celebrate Indonesian ornamental plants’ aesthetic and economic value. We are optimistic that this event will open up broader export opportunities for farmers and industry stakeholders,” Rico concluded.
