Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Telin collaborates with Sri Lanka’s Dialog Axiata PLC to manage international voice and SMS termination services. To mark the collaboration, both parties have signed a master service agreement (MSA). This signing reflects their commitment to improving telecommunications services worldwide.
Telin will exclusively provide managed services for Dialog’s international application-to-person (A2P) SMS and international voice termination traffic. This collaboration aims to monetize international traffic while catering to Dialog customers with more convenience, better security, global coverage, and consistent service quality.
The telecommunications industry is grappling with a surge in spam, fraud, and annoying SMS, raising severe concerns among operators. The rapid expansion of mobile communications and digital connectivity has exacerbated the issue, posing significant challenges for consumers and service providers.
Furthermore, Telin will also manage international voice and messaging services from fellow Telkom subsidiaries, namely Telkomsel, and provide quality connectivity for hyperscalers and operators to connect with Telkomsel customers.
Improving the integrity of international communications
Expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership, Telin CEO Budi Satria Dharma Purba highlighted the global implications of this collaboration. “They understand the challenges in the market and have been very thoughtful in negotiating this agreement. We hope that other MNOs (mobile network operators) can follow their steps, restoring trust in the A2P and Voice business worldwide,” said Budi.
Meanwhile, Dialog Axiata PLC’s director/group chief executive, Supun Weerasinghe, said that this strategic partnership with Telin will reinforce the company’s commitment to protecting customers and improving the integrity of international communications.
“This collaboration not only addresses the challenges posed by spam and fraud but also demonstrates our dedication to providing consistent service quality and greater security to our customers. Together with Telin, we hope to pioneer a transformative approach to protecting communications networks and building trust in the digital era,” concluded Weerasinghe.
