Heaptalk, Jakarta — United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is poised to hold its business and investment event, the UOB Gateway to ASEAN Conference 2023, at Raffles Hotel Jakarta (10/11).
This conference is its annual regional agenda to gather business leaders, government entities, trading partners, and experts in multiple industries. Adopting an ASEAN Forging Ahead as the theme, this conference will focus on the strategic roles of Indonesia to explore investment opportunities for businesses in ASEAN.
This banking entity has chosen Indonesia as the venue for the UOB Gateway to ASEAN Conference along with the archipelago’s election as Chair of ASEAN 2023. UOB company perceived this achievement reflects that the country led by President Jokowi could navigate economic elevation in ASEAN inclusively and sustainably.
Indonesia has become ASEAN’s most significant economic progress. As the production hub of the e-commerce and service industry, the company claimed that the country is an attractive investment destination with a significant basis for monetizing its potential. According to the company, the archipelago can produce the largest e-commerce market in the region with a value of US$600 billion by 2025.
“Multiple investors will attend this agenda. For this reason, we aim to boost Indonesia’s government downstream program and accelerate the digital ecosystem for more efficient economic enhancement, and link customers in the ASEAN market to observe existing business and investment potential in the region,” affirmed UOB Indonesia’s Banking Director, Harapman Kasan during the press conference. In his further statement, Kasan revealed that Indonesia’s investment flows have experienced growth in the last three years. As a regional banking company, UOB Indonesia has demonstrated an investment of up to SGD19.5 billion, approximately Rp224 trillion in ten years, and obtained an SGD11.5 billion (around Rp132 trillion) investment in the last three years. Implementing UOB Gateway to ASEAN Conference 2023, Kasan looks forward to exceeding investment value.
Around 70 foreign companies and 150 attendees from abroad will attend this conference. On the other hand, UOB Gateway to ASEAN Conference 2023 will discuss three primary topics: Indonesia’s government policy in facilitating business harmonization across regions, digital networks that encourage smooth capital flows, and industrial activity centers and infrastructure that support a sustainable economy.
