Tirta Tuah Benua, a regional public drinking water company (Perumdam) in East Kutai plans to open a new business on bottled drinking water production.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The regional public drinking water company (Perumdam) in East Kutai, Tirta Tuah Benua, is exploring potential new business opportunities, one of which is through the production of bottled drinking water. To finalize this plan, the company conducted a mock study at the regional public company Tirtamarta, Yogyakarta (05/11).
Located at Grha Tirtamarta, RW Monginsidi Street No. 3 Cokrodinatan, Jetis, Yogyakarta, President Director of Tirta Tuah Benua, Suparjan, conveyed that the purpose of his staff’s visit with the East Kutai Regent and several related regional apparatus organizations was to study and collect references on the production of bottled water.
According to Suparjan, bottled water business opportunities are wide open due to the high frequency of government and community activities that require bottled water. Moreover, the central government issued a policy to prioritize the use of local products.
“Thank God, the East Kutai Regent has always supported Perumdam in East Kutai to continue to develop business opportunities. We came here not only for fellowship but also to find out how business units were originally formed, governance, and regulations until they can be sold to the public,” voiced Suparjan.
Responding to this, the Technical Director of Regional Public Drinking Water Company Tirtamarta, Sarjono, explained that the production of bottled water began with determining the brand name to be used, namely Ayo Tirtamarta, where Ayo stands for Air Yogyakarta.
“Cooperating with related parties, we intervened in the sense of urging government programs to prioritize the use of bottled drinking water produced by regional public drinking water companies,” said Sarjono.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Business Development Division of Tirtamarta, Robid Lokananta, delivered the early history of the establishment of a bottled water production plant, including registering a trademark, obtaining the support of the Mayor of Yogyakarta, and completing other needs for the expansion of the company’s business.
“Construction has been started in 2021 and in August of the same year, the Mayor launched it. Our bottled water production is distributed to fulfill meeting and commercial needs,” concluded Robid.
