Heaptalk, Jakarta – UD Trucks Indonesia through PT UD Astra Motor Indonesia (UD AMI) shows its presence at the biggest automotive expo in South East Asia, the 29th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). During the exhibition, UD Trucks delivers its latest Quester UD Trucks Euro 5 products with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). These products are claimed to reflect the brand’s goal for a “Better Life for Logistics, Planet and People”.
Presenting an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient transportation system, the Company has performed the virtual launch of the Quester product line with Euro 5 emission standard on 24 March 2022. As the further agenda, UD Trucks today opens up to public to experience driving the new trucks with Quester Euro 5 GKE 280, Quester Euro 5 CDE 250, Quester Euro 5 GWE 350, Quester Euro 5 GWE 410 in the event.
UD Truck’s presence in Hall 8, ICE BSD becomes the Company’s first offline event since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Regarding its appearance in the event, the Company mentioned that the action is carried out to support the Government’s vision concerning sustainability.
On this occasion, Toshihiko Odawara, President Director of UD Astra Motor Indonesia officially opens the exhibition with 4 ranges of Quester, the heavy-duty trucks. The upgrade also boasts enhanced features while lowering the vehicle’s environmental impact as well as maintaining the advantages of the previous models. The number of advanced features offered on the Quester also delivers improved fuel economy with the optimised driveline.
Taking into account that emissions from transportation alone have the potential to increase global emission levels by over 1.5 per cent, UD Trucks have evolved further to meet modern transport and environmental challenges. Being the first truck manufacturer to introduce Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology in 2004, UD Trucks’ new range features SCR technology to significantly boost environmental protection and fuel economy. With such benefits, SCR technology is proven to be more reliable with fuel quality and tough operations when compared to other emission control technologies.
The new range focuses on three themes: improved efficiency and optimised Total Cost of Ownership or TCO; better uptime; and better for the environment. UD Trucks delivers better uptime through less maintenance time and an expanded AdBlue supply network, which is a safe-to-use diesel exhaust fluid used in vehicles with SCR technology to reduce harmful gases from being released into the atmosphere. Most importantly, a cleaner and more robust engine configuration with lower sensitivity to sulphur content in fuel leads to a longer engine life and contributes to a better environment. Quester Euro 5 is also still safe even when it uses Biodiesel B30 fuel and will not affect the vehicle’s warranty. The truck is fitted with innovative UD Telematics – a high-tech wireless communications system, which allows transportation companies to maximise efficiency with real-time vehicle tracking.
The Quester provides the ultimate comfort and experience for the driver with a new steering wheel. The new range of Quester trucks features a new instrument cluster with real-time fuel coaching feature. This enhancement provides the driver with immediate and specific feedback for drivers to drive more efficiently.
Quester Euro 5 products are not only developed using advanced technologies that are environmentally friendly. The latest features on the Quester Euro 5 provide more comfort, efficiency and safety for the driver. These new features include; new instrument panel, fuel guidance system, new steering wheel, chrome grille and also the latest flagship model with Euro 5.
Toshihiko Odawara, President Director of UD AMI implied, “The innovations that we are doing at UD Trucks Indonesia today are very much in line with our commitment to a sustainable future. The Quester Euro 5 models reflect UD Trucks’ ‘Better Life’ commitment. This is another example of offering optimum support for our customers as we make sure they are ready for any fast-growing new regulations. Therefore, we want to move as much as possible to support the government’s programs and efforts in using cleaner and environmentally friendly energy to create a much better life for logistics, humans and the planet, and at the same time to be practical for Indonesian logistics operations which is the most important for us to support our customers.”
