Heaptalk, Jakarta — Issues related to the postponement of the regional head’s inauguration have widely spread. Regarding this issue, Vice Chairman of Commission II House of Representative (DPR RI), Dede Yusuf confirmed that the inauguration of regional heads, which was originally scheduled to take place in February, will be postponed to March 2025.
“This means that the Constitutional Court (MK) intends to make every candidate go through the stages of inauguration and be inaugurated simultaneously, so no more separated inauguration,” said Dede on Friday (01/03).
In accordance with Presidential Decree Number 80 Year 2024 concerning Procedures for the Inauguration of Regional Heads, the inauguration of the elected governor and vice governor was scheduled for February 7, while the inauguration of the elected Regent and Deputy Regent candidates was on February 10.
Dede stated, “All disputes over the results of the general election (PHPU) for the regional elections by the Constitutional Court (MK) are scheduled to be resolved in March 2025. Therefore, the inauguration will be held after all stages have been completed, including the PHPU process.”
According to the Chairman of Commission II DPR RI, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, the PHPU settlement at the Constitutional Court (MK) is scheduled to be completed on March 13 2025.
Constitutional Court, further, will issue an official letter stating that there is no dispute for regional heads. The Head of Commission II DPR RI also stated that the postponement of the inauguration of regional heads will be regulated in a new Presidential Decree issued by President Prabowo.
