Heaptalk, Jakarta — Sampoerna University will hold the fifth TEDxSampoernaUniversity event on March 8, 2025, at Teater Salihara, Jakarta, to empower Generation Z to confront global challenges.
Chantal Makayla, the Project Leader of TEDxSampoernaUniversity, conveyed, “We chose the theme ‘UpNext’ because we recognize young people need to develop essential soft skills to face future global challenges. We aim to inspire the younger generation to overcome obstacles, cultivate the necessary skills and mindset, and actively create innovative solutions for the future,”

Renowned musician Isyana Sarasvati, one of the speakers at the event, expressed her enthusiasm for discussing the topic “Music is not Just an Entertainment: The Big Impact in the Current Generation’s Value of Information in General. I am excited to be a speaker at this event because I love sharing knowledge. Music carries a powerful message that can address global issues through a universal language, making it more accessible to people. I hope my insights and experiences provide a fresh perspective and inspire young people to create and express themselves.”
TEDxSampoernaUniversity 2025 comprises two main segments: the Pre-Event and the Main Event. The Pre-Event, held on February 22, 2025, at @america, Pacific Place Mall, carries the theme “Going Beyond Through Global Education” and features two distinguished speakers: Waitatiri (LPDP Awardee Harvard ’23) and Arimbi Kusuma Wardani (KL-YES Awardee).
Meanwhile, the Main Event on March 8, 2025, will showcase seven curated speakers, each presenting diverse perspectives on critical issues aimed at inspiring Generation Z. The event seeks to broaden participants’ horizons, encourage critical thinking, cultivate proactive attitudes in tackling global challenges, and foster positive change for the future.
