Huawei reveals 5.5G practices for commercial use

To smooth the transition to 5.5G, Huawei presents a series of GigaGreen products and services equipped with Native Giga and Native Green capabilities.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — After three years of development, Huawei revealed its 5.5G innovation practices to assist telecommunication operators build 5.5G networks.

The company stated that the first year of commercial use of 5.5G has begun as all of the standards, services, products, devices, businesses, and policies are set. The technology is starting to be adopted commercially worldwide, one of which is in the Middle East. Meanwhile, currently, operators and industries in Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America are undergoing the 10 Gbps verification process in preparation for 5.5G commercialization in 2024.

“As all industry elements are ready, we have entered the first year of 5.5G commercialization. Huawei’s full series of 5.5G products and solutions, with Native Giga and Native Green capabilities, help operators from around the world to achieve multipath 5.5G evolution across all bands,” stated President of Huawei Wireless Solution Cao Ming at MWC Barcelona 2024.

Presenting GigaGreen services for efficient 5.5G

To smooth the transition to 5.5G, Huawei presents a series of GigaGreen products and services equipped with Native Giga and Native Green capabilities. Native Giga utilizes ultra-wideband and multi-antenna technology to scale up performance up to 10 times. Native Green covers the architecture down to the hardware and software to support 0 Bit 0 Watt. To date, GigaGreen services have been widely applied throughout the world to support the construction of efficient 5.5G networks.

Some of the innovative practices presented include extremely large antenna array (ELAA), ultra-wideband FDD, mmWave, LampSite X, 0 Bit 0 Watt, and 2T Microwave with MAGICSwave. The company also delivers signal direct injection feeding (SDIF) to all antennas and integrates large communications models and digital twin RAN systems to support L4 network intelligence.

Cao Ming added, “Huawei’s GigaGreen full-series solutions provide the most powerful performance with minimal resource consumption, helping operators sustain success in the 5.5G era with networks that offer the highest performance and energy efficiency.” With the 2024 commercial launch of 5.5G, Huawei is collaborating with operators and partners around the world to pursue exciting innovations in networks, cloud, and intelligence.
