GoTo and KCIC partnership will facilitate the public to easily access KCJB stations and other transit areas as well as purchase tickets through GoPay.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — A digital ecosystem company in Indonesia, GoTo Group, announced a partnership with PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) to encourage the development of integrated transportation and Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail services (KCJB). This collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by both parties at the KCIC Halim office, East Jakarta (02/01).
Through this cooperation, the public will later be able to easily access KCJB stations, including Halim (East Jakarta), Karawang, Padalarang (West Bandung Regency), and Tegalluar (Bandung Regency) as well as other transit areas through the support of Gojek, GoRide, and GoCar.
In addition, the public can purchase KCJB tickets easily through the GoPay payment method. Users can also enjoy convenient pick-up point facilities which will later become part of the facilities at the station.
Chief Transportation Officer of Gojek Shobhit Singhal said, “We are very pleased to announce the collaboration between GoTo and KCIC which will soon provide easy access to the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail which can support the productivity of the people of Jakarta, Bandung, and its surroundings.”
The partnership between KCIC and GoTo started with the same mission of encouraging the development and modernization of public transportation in the country as well as facilitating public access to using high-speed rails.
“Now only with the Gojek application, users can easily access the best mobility services to get to the station and buy tickets quickly, safely, and cashless. This collaboration also proves that Gojek can take users anywhere easily for whatever their mobility needs are,” said Shobhit.
Expanding the collaboration of the GoTransit service
Meanwhile, the Main Director of KCIC Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi expected that the MoU can continue to produce a variety of collaborations that provide benefits to the community.
“We believe there are many other collaboration opportunities that can synergize with the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail. We also really appreciate GoTo as a strategic partner to build an ecosystem that mutually supports the development of public transportation. It is hoped that this collaboration will continue to be closely intertwined so that later there will be many other breakthroughs that will benefit the community,” said Dwiyana.
Further, GoTo and KCIC will explore various strategic collaboration potentials to offer more conveniences for the community, one of which is purchasing KCJB tickets through the GoTransit feature in the Gojek application. GoTransit is an innovation that has strengthened Gojek as a hub for public transportation modes, to make multi-modal mobility easier and more efficient.
Shobhit said, “As a first-mile and last-mile solution, Gojek facilitates people who want to maximize travel with GoRide or GoCar services as an intermodal link from the starting point of the trip to the public transportation hub or from the public transportation hub to the end point of the trip.” This ambition is aligned with KCIC’s plan to open access to the KCJB station to make the public can easily reach high-speed rails.
Previously, Gojek collaborated with Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) to facilitate purchasing tickets through the GoTransit service. A few months after the inauguration of the operational partnership in June 2022, the service achieved a 74% market share for digital ticket sales.
Moreover, GoTransit is claimed to encourage penetration of digital ticket usage, resulting in increased sales of KCI’s digital tickets by 300% or 3 times by the end of 2022. The cooperation with KCI will be expanded to cover operational areas in Yogyakarta-Solo in 2023.
