Heaptalk, Jakarta — GoTo Group, Tencent Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance Indonesia’s cloud infrastructure and develop local digital talent.
In more detail, Tencent Cloud will establish its third Internet Data Center (IDC) in Indonesia, with an investment value of approximately US$500 million. By performing this measure, Tencent Cloud will reinforce Indonesia’s digital ecosystem through advanced cloud and artificial intelligence (AI), bolstering the nation’s digital economy.
Meanwhile, Alibaba Cloud has built three data and trained nearly 400,000 individuals in cloud and AI technologies. The company also plans to double this output to 800,000 by 2033. The Chinese cloud company will establish a Skills Center at the University of Indonesia under its Academic Empowerment Program (AAEP). This center will offer specialized training programs, equipping Indonesia’s youth with the skills to thrive in an AI-powered economy.

Furthermore, the MoU is founded on a broader cloud service contract between GoTo, Tencent Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud. The agreement ensures that GoTo’s data remains stored within Indonesia, amplifying data security to be more sovereign for Indonesian users and businesses.
