Heaptalk, Jakarta — Climate-tech based in Indonesia Xurya has marked 2024 with significant achievements. These milestones reinforce its position as a pioneer in Indonesia’s solar energy sector and underline its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

  • Operational Milestones

By the end of 2024, Xurya had successfully operated over 100 MW of solar power capacity across 200 project locations throughout Indonesia. This expansion was made possible through strategic partnerships with over 150 local EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partners, allowing Xurya to extend its reach to remote areas. The company’s operations are supported by a dedicated team of 100 local experts based in four major Indonesian cities.

  • ESG Commitment

Xurya has consistently integrated ESG principles into its operations, focusing on delivering eco-friendly energy solutions. This approach has positioned the company as a key player in promoting sustainable energy practices.

  • Business and Social Impact

Xurya’s measures have assisted more than 100 companies in transitioning to solar power, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in Indonesia’s energy transition. The solar power plants operated by Xurya generate approximately 164 million kWh of clean energy annually, reducing 146,645 tons of CO2 emissions each year—comparable to planting nearly 2 million trees over a decade. In addition to environmental benefits, Xurya’s projects have created over 2,000 green jobs, empowering local communities nationwide.

This solar power plant startup launched Solar Academy Indonesia in partnership with Huawei Indonesia and JJ-Lapp Indonesia. In its inaugural session, the program trained more than 100 individuals in technical skills related to the solar sector, reducing the industry’s dependency on foreign expertise.

  • Investment

In 2024, the company secured $55 million in new funding, led by the Norwegian Climate Investment Fund, with participation from Swedfund, Clime Capital, British International Investment, and AC Ventures. This injection brings Xurya’s total funding to over $88 million, or approximately Rp1.5 trillion. The new capital will accelerate solar project development and expand the company’s social and environmental impact.

  • Recognition and Awards

The company has received prestigious accolades, including the 2024 ESG Award from KEHATI in the Impact Entrepreneur category and B Corp Certification. These recognitions affirm Xurya’s status as a catalyst for responsible business transformation.

“As a pioneer in the industry, we are offering innovative solutions for today and laying a solid foundation for the future of clean energy in Indonesia. Through innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability, we will continue to support the government’s efforts to achieve net-zero emissions.” Eka Himawan, Managing Director of Xurya, concluded.
