Heaptalk, Jakarta – Indonesia is beaten with a serious problem due to the tantrum of the Covid-19 which occur after the highly contagious delta variant appeared in the country. The high rate of daily new infections, even, has made the fifth most populated country in the world to be the epicenter of the covid-19 outbreak replacing India. As a result, the Government has applied strict emergency public activity restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali since the beginning of July this year. However, the policy applied concerning traveling and gathering curb to reduce the spread of coronavirus has made Eid Al- Adha (Day of Sacrifice) celebration on the last Tuesday (22/7) seem quiet. Even though, the situation does not dampen Telkom Group to run their action to share with the poor as a form of caring for others in this hard time.
To remembrance Eid Al-Adha, on Friday (16/7) Telkom Group delivered sacrifice animals as its corporate social responsibility (CSR) with a total of 868 sacrifice animals, including 305 cows and 563 goats to be handed over to the poor. The donation has been delivered to assist Indonesian, particularly in the midst of PPKM implementation where million of people affected live in hardship.
The action held online was adopted the theme “Interpret Qurban (Sacrifice) Spirit with Sincerity, Together SeizeThe Victory”. Remembering the importance of the event, the President Director of Telkom Group Ririek Adriansyah attended the event to deliver the aid symbolically, including three limousine cows with the weight is one ton respectively. The assistance, further, was received by the General Secretary of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Central Board Achmad Helmy Faishal Zaini, the Treasurer of Muhammadiyah Central Board Marpuji Ali, and the Chairman of the Central of Telkom Group Islamic Forum (MTTG) Hari Sandi Atmaja.
Moreover, The Telkom Human Capital Management Afriwandi distributed donations in the shape of sacrifice animals to the Regional Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Telkom Group as a mark of assistance distribution to the underprivileged people around the Telkom Regional offices. The Chairman of PP NU Care-LAZISNU Muhammad Wahib and the President Director of LAZISMU Muhammad Sabeth Abilawa also attended and witnessed the handover of aid.
In his speech, the President Director of Telkom Ririek Adriansyah stated, “Although we are facing the Covid-19 pandemic, Alhamdulillah, this year Telkom Group can deliver sacrifice animals like the previous years. Now, the slaughter of sacrificial animals and the distribution of the meat were carried out in accordance with regulations issued by The Ministry of Religion and Indonesia Ulema Council (MUI) by applying strict health protocol. (The Company) expects that the organizing of the event does not reduce the essence of this assistance, namely deliver sacrifice animal with sincerity and together will reach the victory to provide benefit and kindness to people, especially, who affected the pandemic condition.”
Looking forward, after being slaughtered, the sacrificial meat will be given to the poor around Telkom Group offices and Production Equipment Warehouse. The process was intentionally selected to make the assistance can be disseminated evenly and on target with the intention to surge interaction and togetherness with people.
“I hope this activity can bring multiple benefits to people who strongly affected by the covid-19 pandemic, and together we seize the victory. Keep obey to the Government’s rule, be disciplined in implementing health protocol, and let’s pray together that the pandemic will end soon,” uttered Ririek.
