Heaptalk, Jakarta — NTT Data expands its data center services by constructing the new Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center (JKT2A), which is set for completion in early 2026. This new data center is designed to meet the needs of hyperscalers and enterprises and support the growing digital economy in the archipelago.
This development expands NTT Data’s presence in Jakarta, complementing its established JKT2 and JKT3 campuses. The country, which has the most significant population in Southeast Asia, has experienced a substantial surge in digital traffic due to the rise in startups, electronic transactions, and digital content consumption, emerging into one of the fastest-growing markets in the region for data center space provision.
The JKT2A data center in Central Jakarta will support a planned capacity of 12MW of critical IT load. This facility incorporates air-cooling systems, robust physical security measures, and multiple redundant power sources to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
“The launch of the new JKT2A underscores our position in the country as we grow our global data center footprint to meet the increasing demand. We are ready to provide our client with the flexible facility designs required to enable them to achieve their business objectives. As part of this, we aim to deliver critical data capacity that supports Indonesia’s digital economy,” CEO and President of NTT Data, Doug Adams, affirmed.

From a network hub perspective, the JK2A will host multiple networks, such as NTT’s Global IP Network (GIN), JKT-lX, providing internet exchange in Indonesia, Apricot submarine cable, and direct connection with primary public cloud services. Offering a carrier-neutral policy, clients can choose complete ICT stack services, including managed hybrid cloud, network management, and collaboration.
With an investment value of up to US$10 billion in data center establishment, NTT Data Center’s footprint has been established to over 150 data centers in the US, EMEA, India, and APAC regions. A total of 1,229 MW IT load has been launched, and 879 MW is under construction.
In the Asia Pacific region, NTT’s data center currently operates more than 17 data centers in seven countries, with more than 278MW of critical IT load and +60MW in planned expansion. To fulfill the high demand for data center facilities worldwide, the company plans to build two new data center campuses in Europe (Paris and Berlin) and India (Noida and Chennai).
“This data center will meet the growing demands of our clients as they deploy next-gen AI and expand interconnectivity throughout the region. With the delivery of this new data center capacity, we will foster a robust digitalization in the archipelago,” President Director of NTT Indonesia, Yasuhiro Kajiki, affirmed. (05/16)
