Heaptalk, Jakarta – Local Public Radio and TV Indonesia Association (Persada.id) recently held a national working meeting (Mukernas) to promote the utilization of local government radio and tv in the battle against hoaxes. The occasion was directly attended by the Chairman of Persada.id, Ganjar Pranowo.
Ganjar Pranowo, in his opening remarks, highlighted the role of local radio and tv as the front guard to eradicate hoaxes. He urged the Pesada.id members to keep up with the latest technology and follow the trend. In his statement, he also revealed a strategy to strengthen local radio and tv’s position while winning viewers’ attention, namely by more focusing on delivering local inspirative stories.
Attending the occasion, the head of UPD, Regional Public Radio (RPD) East Kutai Agus Purnama conveyed that four core issues have been discussed during the meeting, covering the institutional issue, human resources, a list of programs, as well as organization and membership.
Agus conveyed that the association has about 300 members, with 115 active members. An active member is categorized based on their contribution to providing information about the latest update occurring in every region, and RPD East Kutai is identified as an active member.
Agus Purnama stated, “As the 40th member of the association, RPD East Kutai is proactive to deliver contribution”. Agus also expects to enhance awareness about the critical role played by the radio to broadcast reliable information that also keeps abreast with the trend. He also mentioned that the support, in terms of institutional, human capital, and budget will be important.
From the side of technology, Agus explained that Radio should improve its technology to increase its value, and also to face hoaxes. “Now, by adopting IoT, Radio can have a super wide reach.”
