Heaptalk, Jakarta — Traditional food from West Sumatera is gaining traction alongside the rise of modern fancy Kapau Restaurants. With its authentic taste, which comes from special spices, Kapau Rice has managed to win many people’s hearts.
Seizing this opportunity, one of the fancy Kapau restaurants, Pangeran Mudo, aggressively expanded the business by opening new branches at Kusuma Atmaja Street, Menteng, Jakarta.
“This place is our sixth branch. Prior to this branch, we have opened our restaurant in Rawamangun, Puri Kembangan, Bekasi, and Ampera. Now, due to the high demand in this area, we decided to open this branch,” stated Moch. Yunaldi, the owner of the Restaurant during the opening of Pangeran Mudo branch Menteng on Friday (11/15).
Yunaldi, who is also called Uda, explained that Pangeran Mudo has several uniquenesses. He stated that he hired the native Bukittinggi as the chef.
He added, “But we are also very open to people from other provinces (to be the chef). To maintain the taste, we trained every chef and staff we hired. We also fly the spices directly from Bukittinggi.”
The restaurant also reduces the level of spiciness to adjust to people’s tastes. Pangeran Mudo also presents over twelve kinds of Gulai (curry soups).
“Different from others, every curry in Pangeran Mudo restaurant has its taste. This is why the color of the curry we serve is different from one menu to another, ” Uda said.
Offering cozy places with modern concepts and luxury interior design, Pangeran Mudo restaurant aims to bring comfort to the customers while enjoying the food. Although offering fancy places and authentic food, the owner of the Kapau restaurant affirmed that he keeps applying competitive prices to make all people can enjoy the food.
“With only Rp50,000, people can directly enjoy our menu. They will get one side dish plus jackfruit curry or other Bukittinggi traditional dishes,” stated Yunaldi.
The fancy Kapau restaurant also provides several VIP rooms which are perfect for 10 to 30 people.
”We have three VIP rooms, with the capacity of 10 people, 25 people, and 30 people. The customers also can do karaoke in this room. The VIP room is can be enjoyed with minimal spending of Rp1,5 million (for 10 people), Rp2,5 million (for 25 people), and Rp3 million (for 30 people),” stated Uda.
