Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT Transportasi Jakarta on Tuesday (12/13), located at the CSW TransJakarta Bus Stop, South Jakarta.
Marking an initial strategic collaboration, GoTo will integrate the GoPay feature with the Tije application, aiming to simplify users in conducting a cashless ticket payment. However, this new payment system will be effective in January 2023.
The Chief Executive Officer of GoTo, Andre Soelistyo, “We observe society in Jakarta has high mobility, particularly in the post-pandemic. Thus, we expect this strategic cooperation this collaboration could deliver the convenience of the community in enjoying fast mobility, supported by an integrated cashless transaction of GoPay in the Transjakarta service.”
Meanwhile, the President Director of Transjakarta, Yana Aditya, conveyed, “Through this collaboration, Tranjakarta intends to connect Jakarta’s life with more extensive transportation modes by providing numerous payment systems.”
Yana affirms this strategic agreement that several further actions will follow can increase the number of customers by the end of this year. According to the reported data, he revealed that the TransJakarta transportation modes have attracted around 800,000 people until the day.
Observing the high mobility of urban society in Indonesia, he recognized the significance of strategic cooperation and integration with diverse stakeholders, spanning the technology industry GoTo with the GoPay digital payment service. By providing this payment access, Yana also emphasized the Transjarta fare will remain at the same tariff worth Rp3,500.
Regardless of this cooperation, GoTo and TransJakarta will broaden other strategic collaboration forms to offer more convenience for Transjakarta consumers. These entities aim to simplify customers’ purchase of the TranJakarta ticket through one of the Gojek application features, GoTransit. The strategic partnership with other public transportation has demonstrated the GoPay transaction improvement for the mobility service over fourfold during the January to November period this year.
This partnership has also expanded GoPay’s functionality, which previously could be used to buy commuter train tickets. As additional information, customers can also utilize the GoPay feature to purchase other transportation modes, including KRL Commuterline, MRT Jakarta, Trans Semarang, Blue Bird, Trans Pakuan Bogor Bus, and TransJakarta, as the latest payment service expansion.
