Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s preloved fashion marketplace startup Tinkerlust has officially announced the opening of its newest store in Barito, South Jakarta. The expansion marks a significant step in the company’s omnichannel strategy to enhance in-store shopping experience.
This measure follows Tinkerlust’s impressive growth, particularly in offline sales, accounting for 70% of total transactions. Since the second quarter of 2023, Tinkerlust has also gained a 65% increase in offline sales, driven by the first physical store launch at Senayan.
Samira Shihab, co-founder and CEO of Tinkerlust, conveyed, “The significance of this offline presence in offering customers a premium shopping experience. We want to ensure that our customers enjoy an exclusive experience, whether shopping or consigning their items.”
The Barito location showcases several upgrades compared to the first store, including a larger inventory capacity of up to 250 items. Customers can browse a more comprehensive selection of bags, clothing, accessories, and shoes. The store also features a VIP Room, providing a private, personalized shopping experience and a convenient drop-off point for sellers looking to consign their items.
The expansion aligns with Tinkerlust’s broader mission to support sustainable fashion. With over 350 luxury brands available on its platform, Tinkerlust has been at the forefront of promoting preloved fashion in Indonesia as consumer awareness about sustainability in the fashion industry continues to grow.
Through opening the Barito store, Tinkerlust aims to solidify its position as a pioneer in the preloved fashion industry in Indonesia, offering a richer and more enjoyable shopping experience while fostering sustainable growth in the fashion market.
Since its founding in 2015, Tinkerlust has grown through various business models, including consignment, fast-selling (direct purchases), and its online marketplace. Focused on luxury fashion, both preloved and new, Tinkerlust has become a go-to destination for fashion enthusiasts seeking affordable-quality items.
Tinkerlust plans to innovate further with the launch of Tinkerlust Live, a digital platform that allows customers to interact with products in real-time. According to Aliya Amitra, Co-Founder and COO, the company plans to boost foot traffic to its physical stores by collaborating with influencers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) while strengthening its sales team to convert online customers into offline buyers.
Tinkerlust has recorded more than 2.2 million users within five years. During its business journey, this fashion has increased its Gross Merchant Value (GMV) up to 750% and demonstrated a business revenue of 250%.
