Focusing on cross-border payment service development in 2023, Indonesia’s e-wallet app DANA involved 76 payment system service providers from Thailand and Indonesia.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s e-wallet platform, DANA Indonesia, recorded significant growth in its business. In 2022, this digital payment platform noted users enhancement, attaining 135 million users compared to the previous year of 93 million users.

In 2022, DANA existed in more than 50% of cities outside Indonesia’s top 20 cities, with expeditious penetration in rural areas. Despite obtaining organic users, the company also observed an uplift of daily transactions of 150%, or approximately 2.5 times enhancement as of December 2022.

Responding to this achievement, the Chief Executive Officer of DANA Indonesia, Vince Iswara, added, “We expect to continue to provide modern financing solutions aligned with demography, ages, and business segments in Indonesia. For this reason, we will expedite our capability in integrating technology and financial service to enhance Indonesia’s digital economy.”

Further, Vince emphasized retaining strategic cooperation with the company’s business partners and regulators to realize this goal. In addition, to expand the business reach of DANA, the CEO of this financial technology startup also cooperates with the Bank of Indonesia to focus on enhancing cross-border service payment.

Focusing on the cross-border service development

Following the inauguration of the cross-border implementation by the Bank of Indonesia and the Bank of Thailand, this Indonesia’s e-wallet app involved 76 payment system service providers of these countries. As a result, this digital platform has been available in Thailand last September 2022.

The realization of this service expansion has facilitated the society in these countries to utilize this payment application by scanning Thai QR Codes and QRIS in performing a transaction in merchants.

“This accomplishment is a fantastic momentum for DANA as modern financing solutions continue spreading the outstanding value, innovation, and services devoted to the overall stakeholders. Through this strategic initiative, we point up the maximum security, convenience, and satisfying experience for our users in accessing our platform,”

Entering the new year, DANA will augment its cross-border transaction service to other countries around Southeast Asia. Although this implementation is still in the early stage, this Indonesia’s e-wallet platform will flesh out its cross-border features, expecting to present seamless financing access internationally.

“Perceiving a huge digital penetration record, this year, we aim to grant more comprehensive financing access to our users in gaining plenty of benefits that DANA offers. Regardless of the global recession prediction this year, we hope our service can assist society in managing their daily finances,” Vince said.
