Focusing on cross-border payment service development in 2023, Indonesia’s e-wallet app DANA involved 76 payment system service providers from Thailand and Indonesia.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s e-wallet platform, DANA Indonesia, recorded significant growth in its business. In 2022, this digital payment platform noted users enhancement, attaining 135 million users compared to the previous year of 93 million users.
In 2022, DANA existed in more than 50% of cities outside Indonesia’s top 20 cities, with expeditious penetration in rural areas. Despite obtaining organic users, the company also observed an uplift of daily transactions of 150%, or approximately 2.5 times enhancement as of December 2022.
Responding to this achievement, the Chief Executive Officer of DANA Indonesia, Vince Iswara, added, “We expect to continue to provide modern financing solutions aligned with demography, ages, and business segments in Indonesia. For this reason, we will expedite our capability in integrating technology and financial service to enhance Indonesia’s digital economy.”
Further, Vince emphasized retaining strategic cooperation with the company’s business partners and regulators to realize this goal. In addition, to expand the business reach of DANA, the CEO of this financial technology startup also cooperates with the Bank of Indonesia to focus on enhancing cross-border service payment.
Focusing on the cross-border service development
Following the inauguration of the cross-border implementation by the Bank of Indonesia and the Bank of Thailand, this Indonesia’s e-wallet app involved 76 payment system service providers of these countries. As a result, this digital platform has been available in Thailand last September 2022.
The realization of this service expansion has facilitated the society in these countries to utilize this payment application by scanning Thai QR Codes and QRIS in performing a transaction in merchants.
