Heaptalk, Jakarta — UD Trucks held a driving competition titled ‘UD Trucks Extra Mile Challenge 2024.’ This event was motivated by the importance of skills and experience in driving commercial vehicles to ensure safe journeys.

The competition occurred at the Traffic Education Center (Pusdiklantas) BSD on a 2 km track. It focused on drivers’ skills in three main areas: pre-driving inspection, fuel efficiency, driving safety, and maneuvering and parking skills.

Unlike previous competitions, this time UD Trucks used the My UD Fleet (MUF) telematics service for data collection and some assessments. This application features an in-depth analysis of fuel usage, operational time, and driver performance.

“UD Trucks Extra Mile Challenge 2024 proves the company’s commitment to improving driving skills and ensuring road safety. We hope to contribute significantly to Indonesia’s transportation industry,” said Handi Lim, Vice President Director of UD Trucks Indonesia.

At GIIAS 2024 in ICE BSD Tangerang, UD Trucks announced Taufiqul Ulum as the competition winner. In October, he will represent Indonesia in Japan’s Final UD Trucks Extra Mile Challenge Global 2024. Handi added, “Winning the competition is an honor and responsibility. It motivates me to continue driving skillfully and cautiously to ensure safety and contribute to a sustainable future.”

On this occasion, Handi also explained that the competition demonstrates UD Trucks’ care for drivers. The goal is to help customers attract good drivers and make each one an outstanding driver. An excellent driver can drive while saving fuel and operational costs, caring for the environment, and prioritizing safety. The competition began by selecting the best drivers in Indonesia.
