Grand Vitara is launched by Suzuki Indonesia at IIMS 2023 as the latest generation of its SUV, equipped with smart hybrid vehicle by Suzuki.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) introduced the latest generation of its SUV, the Grand Vitara at the press day of the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2023 at Hall A2, JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

Equipped with the technology of a smart hybrid vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS), the Grand Vitara is a car with electrification technology in the medium sports utility vehicle (MSUV) class. Carrying the tagline ‘Gear to Dominate, Excellence Escalated’, Grand Vitara will bring a new, higher experience for the exploration of a modern lifestyle.

The Suzuki Grand Vitara was born as a development of Suzuki Global’s passion for design, engineering, and engines in the automotive world. As a modern city cruiser, the Grand Vitara comes with a touch of elegant, tough, and sporty exterior design that can strengthen the appearance and daily lifestyle of its users.

The wide range of features and conveniences in the Grand Vitara is expected to meet the needs and desires of today’s market. Coupled with machines that are environmentally friendly and provide optimal efficiency, this combination makes a positive impression and makes the Grand Vitara a joy to drive.

Sales Marketing Director of Suzuki Indonesia, Matsushita Ryohei, said that the arrival of the Grand Vitara to re-pave in Indonesia is a form of Suzuki’s strong commitment to accommodating the needs of the Indonesian people for the highest quality smart SUV equipped with technological advances.

“Currently, there is a movement in trends and needs in the automotive industry with SUVs dominating in Indonesia. In addition, public awareness of environmentally friendly vehicles continues to increase. With a comprehensive and in-depth study, we are innovating to meet these needs by bringing back one of Suzuki’s historic SUVs, namely the Suzuki Grand Vitara, which offers premium SUVs that are equipped with the latest sophisticated features and electrification technology so that fuel use will be more efficient,” explained Matsushita at the launch event.

Sporty design and soft suspension

This new generation of SUV is built with a sporty design, with a length of 4,345 mm, a width of 1,795 mm, and a height of 1,645 mm, giving it a compact and dashing appearance. This car is equipped with a 1,500cc engine coded K15C Dual Jet which is environmentally friendly and efficient. This is supported by the use of SHVS technology which can optimize the use of fuel as needed while reducing exhaust emissions better.

Grand Vitara’s masculinity can be seen from the ground clearance of 210 mm which can provide calm and stability when passing through various unfavorable road terrain. The front suspension system uses MacPherson Strut with Coil Spring and the rear uses a Torsion Beam to provide comfortable travel damping and make driving pleasure feel more ‘alive’.

The development of safety devices is also found in the Grand Vitara, including 6 airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), an anti-lock braking system (ABS), brake assist (BA), and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). In addition, the Grand Vitara is also equipped with a 360 camera, rear parking camera, and parking sensor to make it easier for drivers to see the conditions around the car and continue safe maneuvers. The presence of the hill hold control feature also provides a sense of security when the car starts moving on an uphill road.
