Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has officially appointed Simon Aloysius Mantiri as the President Director of Pertamina, replacing Nicke Widyawati, who held the position for six years.
The decision was announced during the General Meeting of Shareholders in Jakarta (11/04). Besides the president director, the Ministry also established a new Board of Commissioners, naming Mochamad Iriawan as Chief Commissioner, Dony Oskaria as Deputy Chief Commissioner, and Raden Adjeng Sondaryani as Independent Commissioner.
According to Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Pertamina’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, the appointment and dismissal of directors and commissioners of SOEs, including Pertamina, are under the authority of the Government as the shareholder, represented by the Minister of SOEs. “Leadership changes in the company are a normal and appropriate process per existing regulations,” Fadjar stated.
Bringing fresh energy
Fadjar is optimistic that the new leader’s presence will bring fresh energy to ensure Pertamina’s future sustainability. The previous leadership will serve as a strong foundation for the company’s progress and for realizing national energy resilience and independence.
Mochamad Iriawan, who now serves as Chief Commissioner of Pertamina, is a retired high-ranking officer of the Indonesian National Police who last served as the Secretary of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas). Dony Oskaria, appointed Deputy Chief Commissioner of Pertamina, currently serves as Deputy Minister of SOEs. Meanwhile, Raden Adjeng Sondaryani, appointed as Independent Commissioner of Pertamina, previously served as the Chairman of the Petroleum Engineering Alumni Association of Trisakti University.
The meeting also announced that Ahmad Fikri Assegaf had completed his duties as Independent Commissioner of the company. “We extend our highest gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Nicke and Mr. Fikri for leading Pertamina to achieve outstanding performance in recent years,” Fadjar concluded.
