Heaptalk, Jakarta — Porsche Indonesia has returned to Indonesia’s largest auto show, the 29th GIIAS 2022, Tangerang. This German automobile manufacturer showcases its three highlight electric cars model, aligned with this year’s automotive expo focus.
Backing up the Indonesian government’s commitment to electrification adoption, Porsche exhibits its three elegant cars at the booth, namely the all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo, the advanced and athletic Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, and the track-ready 718 Cayman GT4.
“Electrification is the future of automotive development. Since introducing our first all-electric sports car in Indonesia with the Taycan, we have received positive feedback. Our sales figures show strong demand for the Taycan and our recently-introduced Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) models, the Cayenne and the Panamera E-Hybrid models,” Porsche Indonesia’s Managing Director, Michael Vetter, said during the press conference.
Soul and Electrified, Representing Porsche Taycan Turbo
The revolutionary Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric sports car, links heritage with the future. It carries forward the success story of a brand that has fascinated and thrilled people the world over for more than 70 years and offers pure Porsche performance with zero local emissions in either a Sports Saloon or Cross Turismo body style in Indonesia.
The Taycan Turbo features two intelligent electric motors that generate up to 680 PS / 500 kW power in combination with Launch Control. The technology can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 260km/h, powered by world-first two-speed transmission installed on the rear axle.
The initial gear gives the Taycan exceptional acceleration from a standing start, while the second gear, with a longer gear ratio, ensures high efficiency. Following the latest MY ‚P ‘update announced in July 2022, the Taycan’s front electric motor can be intelligently decoupled. In combination with other energy optimizing upgrades, the range is boosted to a maximum of 512 kilometers (according to WLTP).
Porsche’s Taycan line-up is an early vehicle with a system voltage of 800 volts instead of the usual 400 volts for electric cars. Also, this model presents high-speed charging: Charging time from 5 to 80 percent State of Charge only for 22.5 minutes. The car’s owner can only charge for 10 minutes to gain over 100km of range.
With its clean, puristic design on the exterior and interior, the Taycan signals the beginning of a new era. At the same time, it retains the unmistakable Porsche design language. As with all models from Porsche, the Taycan features hundreds of personalization options, from Paint to Sample palettes for the exterior to hand-crafted Porsche Exclusive Manufacture elements, accessible to be installed for the interior.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, a powerfully innovative
This model is one of the sportiest vehicles in the premium segment with its hybrid powertrain technology. A combined system output of 500 kW (680 PS) is derived from the intelligent interaction of a four-liter V8 engine (404 kW/550 PS) and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission (100 kW/136 PS). Maximum system torque of 900 Nm is available from just above idle.
Despite its stature, the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 295 km/h. This exceptional performance is matched by a high-efficiency level, accessible to be driven for up to 40 kilometers with zero local emissions.
All Cayenne models feature LED headlights, a cruise control system with speed limiter function, camera-based pedestrian protection, and Park Assist at the front and rear: LED matrix beam headlights, a head-up display, Night Vision with thermal imaging camera, and the Porsche InnoDrive digital co-pilot, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, road sign recognition, active lane guidance, junction assistant, and emergency braking.
Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, delivering its racing DNA
The perfectly balanced mid-engined sports car features a four-liter, six-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer engine that generates 309 kW (420 hp), matched to a puristic six-speed manual transmission. The fascinating character of this naturally aspirated engine sees linear power delivery combined with the immediate response of a GT engine, with a maximum engine speed of 8,000 revolutions for complete boxer engine aural thrills.
The Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with a mechanical rear differential lock further enhance the longitudinal and lateral dynamics, cornering performance, and driving pleasure. The high-performance brake system in the 718 Cayman GT4 provides stopping power that is suitable for track driving thanks to large aluminum monobloc fixed-caliper brakes. The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are also available as an overall package option allowing the 718 Cayman GT4 to offer unadulterated driving pleasure.
Taycan test drives on a unique indoor layout
Aligned with the focus on electrification at this year’s GIIAS, Gaikindo has prepared a dedicated indoor test-drive area for visitors to sample new electric vehicle offerings from manufacturers. Visitors will experience Porsche’s first all-electric sports car, the Taycan Turbo. Other Porsche models are available for test drives at the outdoor track: the Cayenne and Panamera E-Hybrid models and the Macan III, which was recently launched in Indonesia.
Porsche Indonesia will also showcase various Porsche Lifestyle items for enthusiasts to display their passion for the brand, ranging from accessories to apparel, including Porsche Motorsport products, on Saturday, July 13th, 2022, at 4 pm.
