Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Tourism Department launched a photo book titled Pesona Wisata Kutai Timur which translates to The Charm of East Kutai Tourism. This 254-page book contains tourist attractions in East Kutai along with detailed explanations. The cover of this book highlights the palm prints on the Sangkulirang-Mangkalihat karst mountains and several other tourist icons of the regency.
The tourist objects included in this photo book are spread across 17 districts, spanning Teluk Pandan, North Sangatta, South Sangatta, Rantau Pulung, Bengalon, Kaubun, Kaliorang, Sangkulirang, Karangan, Sandaran, Muara Wahau, Kongbeng, Busang, Muara Ancalong, Muara Bengkal, Long Mesang, and Telen.
According to the Head of the Creative Economy Development Division at the East Kutai Tourism Department, Ahmad Rifani, this photo book is a must for his team’s main task and duties as it includes all tourist attractions in East Kutai.
“In this photo book, the point is that the Tourism Department wants to record in detail all the tourist objects in East Kutai in a comprehensive manner to attract tourists to visit East Kutai,” said Rifani.
Further, Rifani conveyed that this tourist photo book is a masterpiece of the East Kutai Tourism Department. He voiced, “In my opinion, if we only collect data without any form of a physical product, it does not feel optimal. There was an idea to make a travel photo book as it is more interesting and can be enjoyed visually by many people.”
In more detail, this book contains 230 photo objects taken through digital camera and drone capture. According to Rifani, 95% of the data described in the book comes from him. “The data in this photo book will certainly be needed by tourists who want to explore the nature of East Kutai in the future, primarily since this photo book is printed in two languages, namely Indonesian and English,” he said.
In addition, this book also includes a tourist map of East Kutai, including the distance to the tourist location points and the transportation services. “We hope that this book will be a guide for tourists who later wish to obtain tourist information at Tanah Tuah Bumi Untung Banua (East Kutai),” concluded Rifani.
