The six districts that have been selected for the Digital Literacy Program in 2023 include Sangkulirang, Kaubun, Bengalon, Muara Ancalong, Bengkal, and South Sangatta.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — As a follow-up to the digital literacy program, the Department of Communication and Informatics, Statistics and Encryption (Diskominfo Staper) announced will run the pilot project of this program in six districts in East Kutai this year.
The plan was conveyed by the Head of the East Kutai Communication and Informatics, Statistics and Encryption Department, Ery Mulyadi. “That includes the districts of Sangkulirang, Kaubun, Bengalon, Muara Ancalong, Bengkal, and South Sangatta. In the future, we will continue to develop it in other districts,” said Ery.
The project, which is part of the implementation of the smart city program, certainly requires the support of all parties to embody accelerated and equitable development, particularly in improving the quality of human resources through digital literacy.
Ery voiced, “I also ask the district to facilitate access to electricity and space to place devices in the form of PCs and barcodes that will be used for the program.”
In addition, the location prepared by the district should be accessible by an internet network considering that the project can only be accessed via internet network. “I suggest a location around the district office that already has an internet network,” he added.
With this digital literacy facility, Ery hopes that the community around the location can access information more easily and closely. Further, the long-term goal of this project is to increase interest in reading in Indonesia, which is still very low at the moment.
Previously, the East Kutai Communication and Informatics, Statistics and Encryption Department had conveyed its plan to build a digital literacy center during a meeting with representatives of regional apparatus organizations in East Kutai (06/19). In implementing this project, the Department collaborated with PT Enam Kubuku Indonesia which has focused on literacy work, primarily digital libraries since 2016.
