In more detail, these strategic directions include encouraging regional governments to establish supporting regulations after the enactment of Law 1/2022 and regulations related to strengthening P2DD as well as encouraging innovation and optimization of regional taxes and regional levies (PDRD) and regional spending.
In addition, the Vice President also talked about optimizing the use of the Satria Satellite National Strategic Project (PSN) to support network improvements, strengthening the Regional Development Bank Digital Ecosystem in encouraging the digitalization of regional government transactions, and reinforcing the financial management information system and regional government transactions.
According to Zainal, the direction of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia will be a follow-up discussion on the implementation of the Central and Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorpusda) in the next P2DD stage.
Digitalization of MSME product marketing
Since being led by Zainal Paliwang as governor and Yansen TP as Vice Governor, the provincial government has continued to digitalize the region. In 2021, Zainal Paliwang ordered the KISP Department together with the Industry, Trade, and Cooperatives Department (Disperindagkop) to digitalize MSMEs with the aim of making the world see the potential of North Kalimantan. In 2022, the North Kalimantan Government collaborated with Jakarta Smart City to speed up digitalization in the province known as Bumi Benuanta and Indonesia.
In the same year, Zainal Paliwang launched an application called Kaltara di Hati Shop to help MSMEs sell their products via digital platforms. “We hope that MSME players in North Kalimantan can penetrate the digital market through the Kaltara di Hati app platform,” said Zainal.
The current national and regional economic situation forces MSMEs to innovate continuously, one of which is through digital platforms that allow them to make transactions through apps. He added, “This can also help the government in handling and controlling inflation.”
Zainal further conveyed that the government continues to synergize in dealing with national inflation which has become the attention of President Joko Widodo through his instructions to all regional heads regarding inflation in their respective regions. One of the efforts is to control food inflation, such as organizing cheap markets, expanding cooperation between regions, and committing to jointly develop digitalization of food data and information.
