Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy won a Digital Government Award for having the 2023 highest Electronic-based Government System (SPBE) score in the level of Ministries.
The award was presented by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and was personally received by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, at the “SPBE Summit 2024 and Launch of Govtech Indonesia” event at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (27/5).
“We have received the award as the best-ranked Ministry in Indonesia. This award demonstrates that we have successfully created a good digital government system transformation at the Ministry of Tourism for public service,” said Minister Sandiaga during “The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno” on Monday (27/5).
Based on the Decree of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 13 of 2024, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy achieved an SPBE Index score of 4.67 (satisfactory category), the highest score among 621 assessed agencies in 2023. This award was given based on the evaluation results of SPBE implementation in overall central and local government agencies.
SPBE is crucial for a transparent, efficient, and responsive digital government. This system can promote open, participatory, innovative, and accountable governance and enhance the quality of public services and inter-agency collaboration.
“As the President conveyed, bureaucracy should not be complicated. Instead, it should be simple services. Therefore, we must move quickly, work together, and maximize all our online potential to improve public services,” said Sandiaga.
Minister Sandiaga stated that the Ministry has successfully implemented a transparent, efficient, and responsive digitalization process. “We have integrated public services to be accountable and, importantly, to ensure that tourism and creative economy services can be carried out effectively,” the Minister concluded.
