Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Trade held a business licensing dissemination event in the field of consumer protection and orderly commerce in Jakarta (09/11).
In this event, the Ministry has managed to invite 200 offline participants and 1,000 online participants who were representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, associations and business actors.
The business licensing is stated in the Minister of Trade Regulation no. 21 of 2023 on Amendments to Minister of Trade Regulation no. 26 of 2021 on Determination of Standards for Business Activities and Products in the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing in the Trade Sector. This new regulation officially applies from July 3, 2023.
Commencing the agenda, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan said that his party seeks to provide support to business actors as well as protection to consumers, one of which is through simplifying business licensing.
“Through this policy, the government hopes that the implementation of business licensing will become more effective, efficient, and simplified. The point is to provide convenience,” Zulkifli Hasan voiced in Jakarta (09/11). Thus, he hopes that the investment ecosystem and business activities in Indonesia can grow better.

Meanwhile, Acting Director General of Consumer Protection and Orderly Commerce at the Ministry of Trade Moga Simatupang said, “The socialization of this ministerial regulation was carried out as a form of implementation of the mandate of Minister of Trade Regulation No. 26 of 2023 on Procedures for Forming Legislative Regulations within the Ministry of Trade, which states that regulations that have been promulgated must be disseminated to related lines, ministries/institutions, regional governments, and/or the community.”
Further, four prominent speakers from the Ministry of Trade attended the event to deliver insightful discussion to the audience, spanning Head of Legal Bureau Sri Hariyati, Director of Standardization and Quality Control Matheus Hendro Purnomo, Director of Metrology Sri Astuti, and Director of Orderly Commerce Tommy Andana.
Moga expected that the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 21 of 2023 can provide convenience to business actors and protection for consumers from the distribution of goods that do not comply with the provisions.
