Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Communication and Digital has unveiled the digital stamp catalog 2025, which combines cutting-edge technology with the nation’s rich cultural heritage. This catalog epitomizes how modern technology can preserve and amplify traditional values in contemporary society.
“Stamps have long chronicled the historical and cultural journey of our nation. Through digital innovations like Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and Augmented Reality (AR), stamps are now reimagined with a new visage that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also interactive and pertinent for the digital generation,” explained Meutya Hafid, the Minister of Communication and Digital, during the launch event held at the Ministry’s headquarters. Hafid elaborated that each stamp featured in this catalog tells a distinct story, ranging from the nation’s diverse flora and fauna to traditional arts and local cultural celebrations. Consequently, stamps transcend their conventional roles as mere postage instruments or collectors’ items; they evolve into symbols of a dynamic national identity.
“This initiative underscores that digital transformation presents a monumental opportunity to maintain the relevance of Indonesia’s cultural heritage,” Hafid emphasized.
Through innovative designs integrated with technology, the public can explore Indonesian cultural values in novel ways. For instance, AR technology enables users to witness animated narratives behind each stamp, while NFT-based stamps offer new prospects for digital collections on a global scale.
“We aim to convey to the public, specifically the rising generation, that technology is not a threat to culture but a tool to preserve and enhance it. Through this innovation, we are not merely safeguarding history; we are forging new, future-relevant histories,” Hafid stated.
The Ministry invites all Indonesians to support this endeavor. With collaboration from educational institutions, philatelic communities, and technology enthusiasts, stamps can continue to be a source of national pride.
“Digital stamps are a bridge between the past and the future, between tradition and innovation. Let us use stamps as a medium to introduce Indonesia’s cultural wealth to the world while creating a new legacy that we can collectively take pride in,” concluded Minister Meutya Hafid.
