Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Mahakam Ulu Regency Government, in collaboration with the head of Bankaltimtara, has integrated the payment of property tax (PBB) through a host-to-host system.

The signing of the cooperation agreement was carried out by the Head of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) and the Head of Bankaltimtara’s Ujoh Bilang branch, witnessed by Bankaltimtara’s board of directors, and the Secretary of the Mahakam Ulu Regency Government. Vice Regent Yohanes Avun attended the agenda at the Grand Jatra Hotel in Balikpapan.

Representing Regent Bonifasius Belawan Geh, Yohanes Avun stated that this collaboration aims to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in regional tax management. “However, it is important to note that increasing digital tax literacy among taxpayers is crucial. Therefore, the Regional Government, through Bapenda, should immediately organize training and educational programs to ensure the public understands and utilizes the digital tax system optimally,” Yohanes said.

The signing of the cooperation agreement and the socialization of the integration of property tax payments through the host-to-host system is a joint effort to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of regional financial management. He added, “I hope this initiative will help the people of Mahakam Ulu Regency swiftly adapt to the changes in the payment system and contribute to achieving the region’s revenue targets from the PBB-P2 sector.”

Meanwhile, Bankaltimtara’s Director, Yenny Israwati, emphasized that digitalization is widespread, and this integration will continue the existing digital system. She said, “Recently, we received information from Bank Indonesia that digitalization in Mahakam Ulu Regency has reached 90%.”

In advance, Bankaltimtara will support the Mahakam Ulu Regency Government in both digitalization and regional financial systems. “We will also continue improving our systems and applications to be on par with other banks in supporting the progress of Mahakam Ulu Regency. This is an essential goal of this partnership, enabling us to grow and evolve together,” Yenny concluded.
