Kominfo build 7 BTS USO and 146 internet access in Jambi

In addition to building infrastructure, Kominfo also has organized human capital development program through digital literacy movement.

Heaptalk, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Technology Information (Kominfo) accelerates digital transformation in Jambi by building infrastructure, including the establishment of BTS and internet access points.

“Kominfo has built free internet access for the public and Base Transceiver Station (BTS) throughout 2015 – 2021 in Jambi,” stated the Vice Minister of Kominfo Nezar Patria (09/20).

Nezar explained that the Ministry has established 146 internet access points scattered in 97 health service providers, 35 schools, and 14 government buildings. He added that this facilities were constructed in Jambi (2 points), Batanghari (38 points), Bungo (13 points), Kerinci (9 points), Muaro Jambi (13 points), Sarolangun (4 points), Tanjung Jabung Barat (13 points), Tanjung Jabung Timur (20 points), Tebo (9 points), and Merangin (23 points).

From 2015 to 2020, the Ministry also prepared BTS USO Dual Mode 2G/4G in several villages in Jambi. “In Merangin Regency, we built BTS at Ngacol Village and Tanjung Kasri Village,” stated Vice Minister Nezar.

Aligned with digital infrastructure development, Kominfo also has organized human capital development program for digital field through digital literacy movement. In his point of view, this program aims to enhance society’s insight and productivity in digital scope.

“Digital literacy program, which is part of digital transformation, has been carried out from 2022 to 2023. We managed to attract 2,443 participants in 2022 and 1,767 participants in 2023, thus the total number of participants is 5,209 people,” voiced Nezar.
