Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Government of the Republic of Indonesia is exploring bilateral cooperation with Finland’s government in the digital sector. According to Budi Arie, the Minister of Communication and Technology Informatics, this affiliation covers three areas: digitalization, the national data center, and Public Protection for Disaster Relief (PPDR).
“Finland’s government intends to collaborate with the Indonesian government on three matters. Firstly, digitalization, secondly the National Data Center, and thirdly, PPDR (Public Protection for Disaster Relief),” he explained after a bilateral meeting with Finland’s Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Ville Tavio, at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, on Monday. Minister Budi Arie stated that Finland is an advanced country with many competent technology companies. According to him, collaboration with Finland is a suitable choice for supporting technological development in Indonesia in the future.
“We observe numerous technologies, and many companies have excellent technologies that we can collaborate or cooperate with the Finnish government to support these three areas,” he emphasized.
The Minister of Communication and Information Technology hopes that this meeting can be followed up with concrete cooperation in the future. Moreover, Indonesia and Finland have maintained bilateral cooperation in various fields for 70 years.
“We look forward to this cooperation being performed in the long term. We have been maintaining bilateral cooperation for 70 years. Seven decades. This is a long time for Indonesia and Finland to have been cooperating,” he concluded.
