Heaptalk, Jakarta – Indonesia’s The Palace Jeweler, in collaboration with a well-known fashion expert Samuel Wattimena, rolls out Nusantara, a book which presents the beauty of Indonesian culture through jewelry.
Prior to this launch, The Palace Jeweler and Samuel Wattimena also has created Nusantara jewelry series since 2015. This collection is not only beautiful and has high quality, but also the form of The Palace Jewelry and Samuel Wattimena’s commitment in preserving Indonesian culture through jewelry.
Regarding the Nusantara book, Samuel explained that this launch aims to deliver insightful stories about women’s journey to contribute to the country through various fields. He hoped Nusantara book also will increase society’s awareness to appreciate Indonesian culture and the role of women in advancing Indonesia.
Align with Samuel’s statement, Jelita Setifa, the General Manager of The Palace Jeweler, during the Launch of Nusantara book at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta conveyed, “Through this book, we want to share stories about preserving Nusantara (archipelago) jewelry and also the journey of Indonesian inspirational women, stories which bring the readers to travel time for preserving Indonesia’s culture and jewelry”.
In more detail, this book showcases the beauty of Nusantara’s vibrant jewelry worn by the women’s inspirational figure. Samuel explained the jewelry’s design is adapted from Indonesia’s ancient jewelry silhoutte.
He added, “Although it is inspired by Indonesia’ ancient jewelry, Nusantara jewelry can match with our daily wear, modern wear with various fashion style”.
Meanwhile, Andien, one of the inspirational figures in Nusantara book, stated that she is grateful to collaborate in this project.
Andien voiced, “Nusantara and I, are matched. I love to wear jewelry which hints Indonesian identity and finding this kind of jewelry is difficult. This is why, when I meet Nusantara, I fall in love to this jewelry from the first sight. Especially Mamuli, a jewelry which contains deep philosophy. The design which mimiks womb indicates that the culture really appreciates women”.
