Heaptalk, Jakarta — Sarinah Pandu and InJourney Group collaborated to host a bazaar to support the growth of Indonesia’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The bazaar, which featured 11 selected MSMEs, was held on the Ground Floor of Sarinah from November 5 to 10, 2024.
These MSMEs participated in the Sarinah Pandu x InJourney Group training program, which provided practical knowledge in retail and marketing strategy. Over the five-day event, the bazaar recorded nearly 1,000 products sold, with hand-drawn batik and honey being the most popular items among visitors. The products offered ranged across various categories, including fashion items like hand-drawn batik and ready-to-wear clothing, food and beverages such as local snacks, and handicrafts.
M. Yaser Khalex, Corporate Secretary Group Head of PT Sarinah, stated in Jakarta on Thursday (11/13) that this bazaar is part of Sarinah’s ongoing efforts to support MSMEs in reaching a higher level. “This event provides an opportunity for Sarinah Pandu’s supported MSMEs to market their products and apply the knowledge and skills they gained during the Sarinah Pandu training program. We want them to be better prepared to compete in larger markets, both nationally and internationally,” Khalex said.
The Sarinah Pandu x InJourney Group training was conducted from October 8-10, 2024. This program was designed to enhance MSME operators’ capacity in various aspects of retail business, from branding, financial management, and digital marketing to export strategies. The program aims to ensure that MSME products are not only of high quality but also competitive in terms of marketing and innovation.
Saeful Ghofur, the owner of Batik Tulis Prambanan and a bazaar participant, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s results. He said, “We felt greatly supported by this bazaar, as it allowed us to market our products directly to consumers and gain invaluable feedback. This motivates us to keep creating and improving our product quality.”
In the future, Sarinah hopes to continue being a strategic partner for MSMEs across Indonesia. “We will keep strengthening empowerment programs such as Sarinah Pandu to enable more MSMEs to grow and compete not only in the domestic market but also globally,” Khalex concluded.
