Heaptalk, Jakarta – The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs (Kemenko Marves) is poised to host Bali International Airshow (BIAS) 2024 that will be held at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali on 18 to 21 September 2024. According to Kemenko Marves, Southeast Asia’s premier exposition for aerospace, aero technology, and defense is dedicated to propelling Indonesia to the forefront of the regional aerospace industry.

“Last time, the aviation event was organized in 1996 in Cengkareng, almost 26 years ago. And I see that the (enthusiasm) towards this event is good enough. BIAS is estimated to attract 6,000 trade visitors from 100 global companies and 100 delegates from 35 countries,” stated the Minister of Kemenko Marves, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on the Press Conference of Bali International Airshow 2024, at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta (08/19).

Luhut, further, explained that International Transport Association projected that Indonesia will be the 4th World largest Aerospace Market in 2037 with the total passenger of 367 million.

He added, “Indonesia needs hundreds of aircrafts following the increase in the aircraft demand. The fact that 737 MAX is uncertified yet also aggravate the condition, making the waiting period for obtaining aircraft attains 10 years”.

In response to this situation, Luhut affirmed that today is the golden moment to organize BIAS to attract investment and strengthen the collaboration between industry players.

During the press conference, Luhut also delivered his appreciation to PT Pertamina for its support to the organizing of BIAS 2024. Luhut also underscored Pertamina’s innovation in coining Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

Vice Director of PT Pertamina, Wiko Migantoro who also attended the press conference of BIAS (09/19) stated, “Pertamina perceived that SAF is the key to the growth of sustainable aviation industry. In the future, we expect to strengthen collaboration with global partners and introduce our new technology for the sake of the national industry”.

For information, BIAS 2024 is set to be the biennial even that is supported by  the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Indonesian Air Force, AirNav Indonesia, and the Ngurah Rai International Airport Authorities.
