Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Halal Kulture Market 2024 has officially launched at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), Tangerang (11/01). This event aims to introduce the Indonesian generation to an engaging, modern take on the halal lifestyle while providing a platform for businesses in the halal sector.
According to the CEO of Mumtaz Creative, Agung Paramata, the trend of halal lifestyle adoption has fueled our initiative to create Halal Kulture Market. It responds to the needs of Millennials and Gen Z, offering halal businesses an opportunity to understand better this significant demographic, which now represents 27.94% of Indonesia’s population, totaling 74.93 million people. He said this group had the most productive years with increased purchasing power.
Agung added that the rising interest in a halal lifestyle has inspired young Muslim entrepreneurs, particularly within community-driven businesses.
“We expect that the agenda can be a platform to foster a vibrant ecosystem of young Muslims across various economic and social sectors. The true essence of this movement is to realign life’s purpose for the betterment of the community,” he elaborated.
Additionally, the Chair of the Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Diana Dewi, appreciated event implementation, highlighting its role in supporting young Muslim entrepreneurs. She claimed that the industry aligns with key KADIN initiatives to boost local halal products, such as the E-Halal Forum in partnership with Malaysia’s Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) and collaborations with BPJPH and Islamic Chamber Halal Services (ICHS) to foster the halal industry.
“Jakarta has immense potential in the halal industry, both nationally and internationally. Through Halal Kulture, we’re committed to empowering Jakarta’s halal business sector, encouraging it to evolve from merely a consumer market to a global player in the halal industry,” Diana added.
She further emphasized that industrializing halal products could propel Jakarta toward becoming a world center for the halal industry, with KADIN Jakarta working alongside policymakers to accelerate this growth.
