Heaptalk, Jakarta — Astra, through its running community Astra Runners, is poised to organize the 11th Astra Half Marathon 2024 on November 10th 2024.
Taking place at Astra Biz Centre area, BSD Tangerang, Astra choose ‘Run with Happiness’ as the theme.
CFO of Astra Infra Halim Wahjana, on the Astra Run press conference at Menara Astra, Jakarta, stated, “Astra continue to support healthy lifestyle and also sustainability. This is aligned with our theme, creating happiness. Happiness for our body, and happiness for our environment” (08/01).
Happiness for environment mentioned by Halim refers to Astra’s action to distribute runners’ jersey made from upcycled plastic waste.
Astra also employed tagline ‘We Run, We Care, We Share’ to invite runners to carry out sustainability action. According to Astra, part of the registration fee will be allocated to hold upcycling plastic waste workshop which will be participated by MSMEs assisted by Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation (YDBA). Through this action, Astra aims to invite runners to learn how to maintain the environment and promoting the concept of reuse, reduce, and recycle.
According to Halim, the enthusiasm towards this running event continue to increase every year. This year, the one-day event is targeted to attract 5,000 runners which consist of Astra’s Group ecosystem and communities, as well as society. Astra also claimed that the company will present a total prize of Rp200 million for the winners.
Regarding the event’s detail, Project Leader of Astra Half Marathon Dimas Ario explained the event is open for people between 18 years old to 70 years old. Participants between 13 years old to 17 years old also can participates in 5K category by attaching a letter of parental consent while 70 years old runners are required to enclose the medical certificate.
